The North American magnesia and magnesium products market remains flat and signs of a pick-up are few and far between, according to producers speaking to IM.
“We have not seen any positive signals in the market yet to indicate that demand will pick up soon” said a producer of magnesia-based products in Mexico.
“We are still waiting for customers to increase purchases and we will be lucky if market conditions do not deteriorate further in 2010,” the source added.
